Position: Community Support Worker
Nature of position:
Permanent Part-Time: 6.5 hours per week
Rate of pay: Grid Level 10- As per Collective Agreement
Location: Semi Independent Living
Valid class IV driver's license, business insurance, current first aid and CPR, negative TB test results, current criminal record check as per Association policy, and a completed physicians approval of health. Food safe certification and non-violent crisis intervention also required.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Human services worker certification or certification in a relevant field preferred. Three to six month prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities and a dual diagnosis. Preference given to those with previous experience working with people with a dual diagnosis and challenging behavior. Must be able to work with minimum supervision; exercise sound decision making in a crisis situation. Must display the initiative, enthusiasm, energy, and ability to be a contributing team member. Must be prepared to do housekeeping duties to include cooking, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Must be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job including swimming.

Own Vehicle Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and business insurance to transport clients in own vehicle
